A string of points from Frankie Devlin (3), Jimmy King, Joe Brolley (2), Conor Mullan and Conor Taylor plus a well-taken Brendan McDonald goal gave the seniors a comfortable half time lead. Had it not been for the wasteful shooting of Gort na Mona however, who registered 8 first half wides the score line could have been much closer.

The game was killed as a contest when Niall McDonald crashed the ball to the net after 8 minutes of the second half with Brolley adding another 3 minutes later. From there to the end scores flowed freely as the visitors resistance visibly withered.

Highlights of the evening were an impressive debut from Niall McDonald, a superb display of fielding from Fearghal Toner, and the attacking play of Conor Taylor and Ruari O’Neill. It was also good to see Richard Smyth return to action so he and John Mackle could look at each other as a sideline ball was kicked straight to the net!
