Although missing several key players such as Aoife Montague, Aoibhe McCann and the Finnegan sisters and others the girls played well. St Pauls applied the pressure from the start but St Brigids kept their cool and did not give up. Ellen McGrath played brilliantly in the back line and was helped in mid field by Sophie Curran and Aoife McSherry. Niamh O Hare and Mary Keenan played an outstanding game on the half forward line and didn’t get disheartened.

The girls went out to the second half with as much energy and enthusiasm as the first. Again the back line was brilliant this time with more from the McMullan sisters and Rachel Carswell, Sarah McGuckian in goals had lots of help. The girls had high hopes in the second half and these rose even higher when Suzanne Mullan put over a fantastic point (in her first match!!)
It was a hard match and the girls played to their full potential.
