The seniors tasted their first competitive defeat at Woodlands at the hands of a strong Lamh Dhearg outfit. Playing against the wind and rain it was the men from Hannastown who opened the scoring and set the pace of the game. While St Brigids did miss a couple of golden goal opportunities, Lamh Dhearg also squandered quite a few chances and were value for their half time lead. Joe Brolly was responsible for the home scores, both coming from place kicks.
Half Time: St Brigids 0 – 2
Lamh Dhearg 0 – 6
The second period saw a hungrier, more determined performance and early scores from Brolly seemed to signal a comeback. However the platform provided by Lamh Dhearg’s half back line continued to provide them with sufficient scoring opportunities. A Conor Mullan point entering the last 10 minutes brought the gap to a goal and St Brigids proceeded to lay siege to the Lamh Dhearg line. The visitors held out however for a deserved victory and a welcome wake up call for Naomh Brid that it takes more than just turning up to win.
Full Time: St Brigids 0 – 6

On the theme of turning up, thanks to all the Division 4 players who were at Woodlands from 6.30 only to eventually be told an hour later that the game would not be going ahead.
