St Brigids picked up a useful point in Division 4 South with a last gasp equaliser against Glenavy at Cherryvale on Sunday April 24.
Trailing 0 – 6 to 0 -1 at the break the Belfast boys showed great fighting spirit in the second half, clawing their way back with points from Ruari O’Neill and Jimmy King(2) before substitute, John McKeever, tied up the game with a screamer to the roof of the net with 5 minutes remaining. Glenavy responded by retaking the lead before an injury time effort from Keelan McCrudden was adjudged to have been between the sticks by a keen eyed umpire. The Glenavy players and mentors were not as convinced regarding the quality of the umpire’s vision however… Fair play to you Geordie.
Full Time: St Brigids 1 – 6
Glenavy 0 – 9
