Folks,

We are getting some great interest from club members (playing and non playing) in relation to Scór na nÓg. We currently do not have any participants for the Instrumental Music (Ceol Uirlise) and Ballad Group (Ghrúpa bailed).

Instrumental music is a tradition Irish music category (2-5 people). Two tunes have to be played in the competition of different character.

Ballad Group (3-5 people) must be of the history of Ireland, its people, places, and folklore. Groups must sing two contrasting ballads (stories through song) and musical instruments can be used but are limited to a maximum of three per song. Groups are encouraged to sing one ballad in Irish (as Gaelige).

Below is a video of the 2015 All Ireland Scór na nÓg. Taking part is a great opportunity represent the club with the opportunity to go forward and represent Ulster with a chance to win an All Ireland medal.

We are currently looking for some juvenile boys under 17 to take part in the solo singing and recitation (storytelling).

If anyone is interested in trying to put either a Instrumental or Ballad Group together, please contact the club Cultural Officer: tracygalvin77@gmail.com
