Naomh Brid christen new Ormeau pitch

Screen Shot 2016-03-24 at 10.28.22The magnificent new state of the art 4G full size GAA pitch was opened last weekend and Naomh Brid U14’s and both U16 football teams featured in the opening trio of games last Sunday.

The much needed facility is part of the GAA Belfast pitches strategy and was developed with input from Belfast City Council and the GAA.

The U14 team were first up and welcomed St James’ Aledgrove to south Belfast. Our U16 squad, which this year will run two teams across both South Antrim divisions played first against  Clann Éireann from Armagh with the B team playing St Malachy’s. Both matches were terrific workouts for the teams as they prepare for their imminent league campaigns. Across the three games more than 50 young Brigids boys graced the fine new pitches, recording two wins and one draw.
