Saturday saw the second week of the Girls U14 Winter League and what a performance in all matches from the girls.

We started against Ballymena and the team put in a truly spirited effort and were narrowly beaten in comparison to the previous week’s match. They tackled well, worked hard and moved the ball between each other in a coherent fashion. Again against Carryduff and Randalstown, their performances were vastly improved and we matched them point for point throughout. The players are growing with confidence and played well as a team which augurs well for the next coming year.

The Rossa game was closer than last week and we lost this by a point or two.

Disappointingly only one dog turned up to support us this week, though again there was a great contingent of parents to shout encouragement. It would be great if some of these parents could come along to help with the coaching. It was a wet day, but the girls were still smiling at the end.

See you next week and let’s get even better as we change to play new teams play Ardoyne, Collingaels, St Galls and Glenavy.
