Last night our two senior men squads faced Randalstown in what were to be two tough games. The reserves started off with a bang winning 3.11 – 1.02. Great to see minors Shane Moran who had a man of the match performance and Paddy Finnegan lining out in the senior grade for the first time. Special mention also goes to Rory Flanagan who played his first full game in over a year and got a cracking goal. Reserves remain top of the table on points difference with Glenavy sitting second.

A first half goal from Micky Ward put us ahead in the senior game but bad weather in the second half helped a dogged Tír na nÓg side claw back to level it, and then pull in front. A last minute goal from Ronan McGrady but us 2 ahead and pushed us over the line. Well done to Paddy Finnegan who made his senior debut coming off the bench in the last 5 minutes. 1 point was all that was needed to secure promotion, but with St Paul’s losing to Sarsfields it means that we can’t be caught and have won the KENNEDY CENTRE DIVISION 2 FOOTBALL League title. Well done lads.

We travel to St Enda’s next Wednesday night.
