gaa health

The 2015 season has started in some style for all our teams, Ladies & Men, Seniors & Juveniles!

We aim to be as fit and prepared as we can be ahead of our games, but sometimes we overlook some fundamentally important aspects of our preparation. One of these crucial aspects is nutrition. Without the right fuel, you can’t run a racing car!

Eating a balanced diet and allowing for adequate pre and post match hydration adds immeasurably to performance and recovery. The link below has a wealth of information for both juvenile and senior players who want to ensure that they are equipping themselves nutritionally to the best of their ability ahead of training and matches. It also highlights the importance of maintaining a steady exercise regime and outlines the pitfalls that smoking and alcohol can bring to the mix.

It is vital that we look after the physical and mental health of our players, coaches, administrators and all our volunteers who make up the wider St Brigid’s and GAA family.
