Falls Park P6 games

Sunday 12th May 2014

Brid Og played in the second week of The Belfast City Council organised Sunday morning P6 GoGames at Falls Park.

This week the opposition was St Gall’s, St Enda’s and Ardoyne.

The first game against St Gall’s was a baptism of fire for the team as they came up against a well drilled and skilful team who were particularly adept at accurate passing. Despite a very determined effort and some great defending, the St Galls midfield started to pick off points from long range and with wind advantage in the second half took their scoring opportunities very well to win this game.

The second game against St Enda’s was a more balanced game with some very competitive tussles `up and down the pitch. The scores were level at half time and with wind advantage in the second half, St Enda’s took a lead which Brid Og could not overcome by the final whistle.

The final game against Ardoyne saw the Brid Og team in full flow from the start. Brian’s long puckouts were giving us a big advantage from which the forwards were able to attack the goals and were rewarded with scores. In the second half Ardoyne pressed the Brid Og goal repeatedly but the defence held out and a fantastic team effort ensured a Brid Og win.

Thanks Tommy and Kieran for organising the fixtures and pitches. Thanks to all the parents who brought the players and braved the elements (again). Thanks to Darren for undertaking the refereeing role so well .

These games are a fantastic opportunity for our players to play games and develop their skills in a conditioned environment.
