Venue: Colin Valley

Date: 15th March 2014

Brid Og were able to field 2 teams at the P4 games at Colin Valley. Some
teams and players were late arriving so the 5 Ogs who were present at the
10am start time played a match against St Johns. Brid Og had most of the
possession, but it was St Johns who took the lead. However, the Ogs battled
back and 2 good strikes from Zack gave them a deserved victory. In the
meantime more players and teams arrived so next up was the 2 Brid Og teams
playing the 2 Rossa teams. Both games were tight and each club recorded a
1-0 win. Rossa won the ‘A’ match and Brid Og got instant revenge in the ‘B’
game with Tetchin scoring the only goal of the game.
The second game against St Johns was the next fixture. Again the Ogs were
victorious, this time by 3-1 and again it was Zack who scored the goals.
Following this, both teams played Davitts. Unfortunately the ‘A’ team lost
against what was a strong Davitts team. Dara scored a goal in the 3-1
defeat. A combination of bad luck in front of goals and a good display from
the Davitts goalkeeper cost the Ogs in this match. The ‘B’ team faired
better, with James and Tetchin scoring in a 2-2 draw.
The final games were against Carryduff. The ‘A’ team ended the day with a
1-1 draw. They took the lead early on but couldnt manage to get a second and
Carryduff scored an equaliser near the end. The younger ‘B’ team suffered
their first defeat in their game against Carryduff.

Thanks to Kieran Megraw for organising these games and to John and Gavin for
their help with the teams. The parents provided great support from the
sidelines. Special mention as well to Saoirse and Chelsea-Lee who were
making their debuts today and both girls performed very well.
