St Brigid’s U8s and U10s participated in their first Aldergrove Tournament on Saturday the 9th September.
The club entered two teams at each age group in an A and B section. The tournament consists of a league basis during the morning session followed by a Cup and Shield playoff in the afternoon. This tournament is the highlight of the season following the league games played throughout the year.
All St Brigid’s teams played some excellent football in the morning session to qualify for all the cup stages in the afternoon. In the afternoon the two U8 teams reached both finals. The U10s reached one final and one semi-final.
Alas the club didn’t manage to secure victory in any of the three finals. All games were extremely close. While there was big disappointment the players should be very proud of their achievements on the day. Reaching three out of 4 finals was a great performance.
St Brigid’s would like to thank St James Aldergrove for inviting the club into this league and tournament in 2012. The club would also like to thank St James for their organisation of this league and tournament.
