Last Wednesday night at Falls Park, Michael Davitts intermediate team defeated St Brigids reserves in a keenly contested ACFL Div 3 game played in excellent conditions.

Goals from Conor Mackle, Jack Dowling gave the blues a first half lead of 2:3 to 0:3.

However a much more experienced Davitts side secured the points deep into injury time with two late points. In truth the hosts bossed the second half, but a great Cormac Mc Grady solo run opened up space for Luke McCann to tuck away a goal with ten  minutes to go and the blues edged in front, but Davitts fought back to get two injury time scores to take both points.

Micky Donnelly, the Mackle brothers, Ciaran, Ronan and Conor, combined well with John McGuckian, Peter Mooney and Jack Dowling on the night and these fine individual performances helped a strong squad display that augurs well for the rest of the season.

Final score: St Brigids 3-4 Davitts 1-11
