The under 16’s lost out in extra time at St Pauls to Gort Na Mona in a thrilling enounter on Thursday night.
The Malone boys were 7 points up with a three minutes left but the gap left by the injured Sean McKernan was to prove costly as the never-say-die attitude of the Gorts saw two last minute goals and a point to secure a draw and leave the Malone boys stunned.

The 10 minutes each way in extra time was even stephen until the last four minutes of the second half when a goal resulted from a sideline ball and the greater fitness of the west Belfast side proved effective.

Conor Hughes was excellent while Niall Quinn, John Keenan, Conor Leonard, Rory Hampton and Cathal Conway were all to the fore in a great performance from the boys.

Well done to Jim Hughes, Conor MacSherry and Frankie Devlin, three club stalwarts who worked very hard all year with this group.
