once more a heavily depleted minor panel augemented by a host of the under 16 team took on a south west team. This time it was St Comhghall’s Antrim in the all county minor league.

Two first half goals from James Gildea and some well taken points from Flanagan and Mooney provided the gloss on a Sean McKiernan and Conor Leonard inspired half back line that provided the sturdy undercoat.

Mark Salters was rock solid in nets with 15 year old Finn McKernan a revelation at corner back, Ruari Mulvenna and Jack Cassidy making up an effective rear guard.

Daniel Lavery was a useful pivot at centre half forward and used his stylish left foot to good effect. Matt Keenan put in a very workmanlike hard hour but on occasions should be more selfish but his workrate was sorely missed last week.

The final five point victory owed as much to the young under 15’s subs Caolan Lynch and Conal Moran as the the midfield pairing of Kelly and Prenter who worked tirelessly for the cause. Well done to all.

Next up is St Teresa’s on Sunday in the South Antrim Dwyer Cup at musgrave with a noon throw in.
Good luck to our two county minor panelists on Sunday v Cavan at the Marshes.
