The Div 4 side played their first challenge game of the season on Sunday at Mallusk v Glenavy at 2pm. Bearing in mind that this was their first outing there were plenty of positives from the first half performance.
the division two side found themselves trailing form an excellent start from the Malone road boys. Paul finegan at corner back was doing well as was mark kelly at wing back and Peter Lundy showed well at centre half back with the midfield pairing of Malone and Dowling holding their own, the half time deficit of 1:2 to 6 points, seemed like a fair reflection of play, as Glenavy came more into the game in the second quarter.

Playing with the aid of a slight breeze in the second half, hopes were high for a strong display. However the tangerine clad men won eight balls in a row at the start of the second half at Midfield and tagged on six points in as many minutes and the game was out of reach.
There were good second half performances from Brendan Corrigan, Ciaran Mackle, in defence while Conor Mackle and Brendan McDonald were the two most effective front men.

The final score was St. Brigids 2:3 Glenavy 1:15

Despite fielding an understrength team benny o neills charges had a good run out and some cobwebs were blown away. much hard work remians to be undertaken in the coming weeks on the training field. This was still a useful run out as the pace of the game was one which tested the blues in their first outing.
