An historic result for the St Brigids U16 team when they won the clubs first match in the ‘A’ grade championship and reached the south Antrim U16 ‘A’ final. It was not a vintage performance against a Sarsfields team who only fielded 14 players, it was noted that the referee was wearing the Sarsfield team colours but despite this the U16s maintained composure and discipline. St Brigids were just too strong for a gallant Sarsfield team and remained always in control even when the ref managed to reduce our numbers to that of the opposition. All were heros on the day but special mention must go to Gerard Henvey with a tally of 2 goals and 2 points.
Final score St Brigids 6-8 Sarsfields 0-7
