Last Friday evening the U14 football team had an excellent win over Bellaghy at Musgrave. Its fair to say the big Bellaghy team were probably caught on the hop in the first half by the sheer pace and power displayed by our boys.In what was without doubt the best half of football this team has produced this year St Brigids went in 4-8 to 0-2 ahead and this was in no way flattering.
As expected the Bellaghy mentors did their job and got their team up for the second half with 2 early goals setting the tone for a much more competitive 25mins. To the credit of our lads though they dug in and fought tooth and nail for everything with Bellaghy shading the second half by a point leaving St Brigids the comfortable overall winners.
It would be impossible to single out anyone of 18 who played because of the overall team performance being of such a high calibre and every single one of the lads should be proud of how they performed.
