The 2008 Minor Team are the first sqaud to win a minor level competition for the club. All year a core group of players dedicated themselves to training and preparing for games, others were caught up with injuries, other sporting commitments and of course the usual preparation for exams.

None the less, the team were unbeaten in Divsion 2 and deservedly won each game. In addition they beat a highly fancied Gort Na Mona team in the opening round of the minor championship, and are still to play the quarter final.

South Antrim CCC have decided to revamp the structure of Division 1, and now the minors have the opportunity of playing more games this season as part of the newly structured set up. So the challenge is now in place to see how this great bunch of players can perform against tougher opposition.

Team manager Eamon Convery is confident they will do well in Division 1 and looks forward to the games. All players – even if they haven’t been available in the early part of the season – are asked to come to training and games in order to help build the squad options.
