In their first home matches of the season the U10s boys and girls came up short against a very strong and skilful St Endas squad, who passed the ball well and took some good scores. Nevertheless both St Brigids teams played with passion and determination throughout and by the third period were coming better to grips with their opponents. Both 10-aside games were played in good spirit, which was a relief to the nervous debutant home referee.

The experience will stand the squad in good stead and more challenge matches are planned for the coming weeks. On this evidence, though, extra practice sessions will be needed in preparation for the first tournament of the season, the St Galls May Day event on Monday, 1 May (one for the calendars).
