St Brigids travelled to Ballymena on Sunday February 12th 2006 to take on the home side in both Senior and Reserve challenge matches.
Ruari O’Neill did the damage in the first half netting twice, the second ending a great bit of individual skill involving fronting his marker to gain possession , turning and beating his opponent before dispatching a low drive to the net. At the other end Barry Gormley celebrated his debut as stand in goalkeeper by diverting a weak effort heading wide into his own net. He could have just said he didn’t want to do goals!

Half Time:
All Saints 1 – 2
St Brigids 2 – 1

The second half was a more keenly contested affair with the home side none too pleased at the city boys looking like securing a victory. A couple of Joe Brolly points plus one from Conor Mullan cancelled out Ballymena’s 3 scores as the clock ran out. Then in added time the referee seemed to invite Deaghlan O’Hagan and his opponent to leave the pitch after Deaghlan had hit his man on the fist with his face. Deaghlan accepted the ref’s invite while his opponent did not and ten seconds later, from the resultant free, the ball was in the St Brigids net.
