The Division 4 team bowed out of the Junior B Championship to a much stronger Lamh Dhearg second stream at Hannahstown.

The experienced Red Hands showed more maturity and guile than their younger Naomh Brid opponents and made better use of the wide open spaces of their excellent playing field.

Despite having difficulty in getting good ball to their forward line Naomh Brid approached half time in good shape trailing 0-8 to 1-2, the goal coming from the hard working Keelan McCrudden and two pointed frees from Jimmy King.

The most significant event of the came immediately before half time when Naomh Brid defender JG Doran received a straight red which could have been avoided, after an altercation with the Eoin Mulligan almost look-a-like from Lamh Dhearg.

Half Time Lamh Dhearg 0-8 Naomh Brid 1-2

The second half was literally an uphill struggle playing towards to road goals and Lamh Dhearg made good use of the extra man and their strong central players. The goal immediately after the break effectively killed the game as Hannahstown ran out comfortable winners.

A lesson learned for all involved.
