St Brigid’s lost a relatively high scoring match by 3 points. 10 substitutions at half time and many questionable refereeing decisions unduly affected the flow of our game. However this was a useful run out for the squad prior to the league commencing this Thursday.
David Quigg pulled off some eye catching saves. Dependable as ever Matthew Edgar was solid in defence. Thomas Mc Keogh man marked the Glenavy No.11 danger-man out of the match. Tireless in midfield Chris Mooney kept driving the players forward. Tenacious tackling and exceptionally fast forward play by both Chris Donnelly and Steve O’Brien; Steve McAleer better watch out on the point scoring charts this year as Chris Donnelly seems intent on topping that particular table.
Man of the match performance in the first half by Daniel McKeever whose tracking back was excellent.

Second half performance from Niall Murray and Conor Keenan were note worthy as St Brigid’s battled against a team that had the wind behind them. Matt Kelly and David Brennan were brought back on to steady the ship.
A Match which highlighted St Brigid’s qualities in Fast forward play – some of the hand passing and scoring was of the highest quality.
Despite missing Michael Malone, Ben Sinnott, Richard Kervick, Paddy Nolan and captain Tim McCrudden the players can be all well pleased by the Sunday performance.
